Lum Farm LLC is located on the historic SJC Land Bank Coffelt Farm Preserve and incorporates neighboring pastures. We've been located on Coffelt Preserve since 2019, and in 2022 received the 10-year lease through the Land Bank. We work together with the county and landowners to improve pastures and forestland through sustainable grazing practices. We raise a diverse assortment of cattle, pastured lamb, goat, pork and poultry, all harvested on site and USDA certified.

At Lum Farm, we work hard to implement environmentally sustainable and regenerative farming practices.
Our animals come first, whether they are being raised for meat or dairy. Animals are rotationally grazed in
the spring, summer and early fall. We hay our fields (and others) for hay and haylage for our animals in the
late fall and winter. We do not spray our fields with any pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, focusing rather
on sustainable grazing. We have a robust composting program and add compost to our fields. Since we
have supplemented our fields with compost we have noticed a marked increase in diversity and health of
our forage. In recognition of our practices, Lum Farm received the 2023 Excellence in Stewardship and
Preservation award from the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce.
