About Us
Hedlin Farms has been in operation since 1906 when it was founded by our (great) grandfather, Rasmus Koudal shortly after his arrival from Denmark. While seed crops, primarily beet, spinach, and cabbage seed have been the constant thread on our farm over the last hundred years, the farm currently includes a greenhouse transplant and custom transplanting operation for the seed industry, wheat, pickling cucumbers and our fresh market operation which has grown over the last fifteen years from another berry and corn stand along the side of the road to a 50 acre market garden where we grow more than 100 different varieties of Certified Organic crops and spray-free greenhouse produce.

Looking to the future, as demand increases our crop mix is starting to include organic feed crops; silage corn, wheat, green chop and hay. Our farm is located near the mouth of the Skagit River, on the outskirts of the town of LaConner. Owned and operated by third generation David Hedlin and Serena Campbell, we continue to be a family operation, with sister Mary Hedlin, daughter Lauren Hedlin and nephew Kai Ottesen all working on the farm. We are committed to the longterm stewardship of our land and waters, the health of our workers, and to growing the highest quality produce the Magic Skagit has to offer. We hope you'll join us!
Practices
Certified Organic - All of our field grown fruits and vegetables are WSDA and USDA certified organic.
Pesticide Free - Our greenhouse vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and cucumbers) are pesticide free. These crops are not certified organic because we do use some conventional fertilizer for our greenhouse vegetable production.

Many of these crops are now also available organically (peppers, cucumbers, basil, eggplant). Be sure to check the product description for an item's organic status.
